Textile ♥ Love: John Robshaw

OK, I am completely fascinated and obsessed....John "I-caught-the-Asia-bug" Robshaw is not only all kinds of cute but he is also OH so very talented!...

He earned a fine arts degree at Pratt and then studied traditional block printing in China, then he journeyed to India to find natural indigo dye for his paintings. But he fell in love with the local artisans fabric-making traditions, it became a lifelong fascination.

"It's so simple and natural. You touch a woodblock to wet clay and then to the fabric. After the clay dries, you dip the cloth into the indigo vat and the clay stays on. One dip gives the fabric a sky-blue color, two dips and it deepens to cobalt, three dips and its a saturated midnight blue. Then the fabric is laid out to dry in the sun and later the clay is washed off. The dyer says the indigo vats are like a mistress because they need constant attention. I was completely fascinated by the dyeing and printing processes, as well as how the finished product is used. Textiles become intimate companions in daily life, whether as a pillow, bedcover or sarong."

So beautiful!

The crisp lines.. perfectly styled.

This is the home of Heidi Posner, designer, painter and editor of undeliable talent. And obviously, being the super stylish person that she is, her house in Madison Wisconsin is something to see!

Found this beauty at Martha Stewart's website, and it says there, that Heidi LOVES using the stems and leaves in subtle still lifes once the autumn comes and the roses stop blooming in her garden. {niiice!}

Clean, crisp lines aren't my favorite but here, they were softened with warm-to-the-touch materials... I love that! and Sweet-baby-Jesus... this house has some views!

Hello Lover!!! again, here's the dining table of my dreams!

The soft rugs and pillows create great contrast to the cold colors... some of her own abstract art stands out in a great way. The chair is by Takeshi Nii.

But, {Ehemm...!} Did I mention the views?

On a round vintage table, she gathers simple items in a range of textures -- silky roses, balls of yarn, and books {with gorgeous fabric covers} she collects.

Aaaaanyway.... on hot days like these... all I want is to be in cool, breezy spaces.. and I found some! check out these totally inviting inspiration rooms and hopefully you will feel the cool too. So... Which space is your fave?

buh bye South Africa...

Excuse me if I depart from my usual style to post something a little bit different... but most certainly beautiful all the same {oh yeah!}

I have enjoyed this World Cup, really... and its time to say goodbye to South Africa, I watched a lot of the special shows on the culture, the food, the cities, the places, the wild life, etc and obviously I found it fascinating. However, this post has nothing to do with South Africa itself, but the thing I am seriously gonna miss the most: {all those soccer hotties all in one place!} So, as I promised on my previous post....... the Cup of the Hottest Hottie goes to this swoon-worthy Dream Team....

Benny Feilhaber - USA

Clemens Fritz - Germany

Fabio Cannavaro - Italy {swoon}

Iker Casillas - Spain

Michael Ciani - France

Robin Van Persie -Netherlands

Now, if you LOVE Christiano Rolando, please forgive me. He just did't make my list, his overstyled pretty boy image doesnt do it for me what can I tell ya!!!

Love xoxo

Today... all about SPANISH beauties!

And I am not talking about the soccer players!!! {yeah, surprisingly}

Are you as crazy as I am about the new kind of white??? I am talking bout the relaxed, lived in white, with not even a hint of preciousness and perfection.

This is the beautiful home of photographer Amy Neunsinger where she lives with her husband Shawn Gold, her two children, and her mom. Ready?

This is the kind of homes we live in here in Mexico, you see them everywhere. And still it is my favorite style for the front of the house!

This is a 1934 Spanish-style home in Los Angeles

Maaaan, this living room is a dream!

A mantel where rough and soft are perfectly balanced!

The home office

The Spanish patio {with a patio like this, I'd live outside!}

Amy says of her house: "I'm not one style or another," It's all eclectic, but it all works together."

Oh!! we could be best friends Amy and I!!!

I'll take her entire closet please!

I have a new feature here in this lil ole' blog of mine, and it's called "I'll take her entire closet, please!" where we, my dearests, are about the explore {and die of envy} some of the most stylish women in the world...

Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan is the very first and YES, I will take her entire closet... And may I take her friends too!!???? {specially Bono and Michelle Obama!}

Goodness gracious! just how ridiculously stylish and gorgeous can someone be! Her style is femenine, simple, neutral and elegant...

Click on her name above, to go directly to her website and read about the amazing and hard work she does for a better world, Her Majesty says:

I believe you deserve an education.
Whoever you are.
It’s your right.

You deserve the chance to make the most of this brief glimpse we call existence. To be all you can be. To help those dear to you. To re-imagine the parameters of possibility.

Because education is transformative.

It can rescue a girl from the burdens of adulthood: early marriage and premature pregnancy.
It can empower a woman to take control of her life: mind, body, and soul.
It can defeat disease and temper intolerance: a shield for both our health and our humanity.

Education is a Titan.

SO INSPIRING!!!
