This is me after my first class in 7 years... nearly dead...

OH, I also am a brunette now ;) so far... I am having as much fun as a blonde.

Hugs and xoxo to all of you, I promise to be around more now. What are you up to????

Saturdance! High Up in the Air...

That's right. HIGH up in the air is where she belongs.

My second favorite Prima Ballerina is Natalia Osipova. A beautiful young dancer {she is 25} who recently left the Bolshoi Theater to move to the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg. She cited "artistic freedom" as her reason for leaving..... so did her fiance, the AMAZING Ivan Vasilev {the next Baryshnikov, as critics call him}.

Natalia has dance every single leading role but the ones I like for her are energetic, explosive roles, as the allegro & jumping are CLEARLY her thing. Check her out and try to disagree!

LUVS HER.

Happy Saturdance!!!!!!!!

Saturdance!!!

Honestly my loves..... as critics call him, "the next Baryshnikov" Ivan Vasiliev cannot be human. A person that good looking, sweet, talented, hot and adorable at the same time? PUH-LEASE!

His performance is extremely intense, very passionate and with impeccable technique.... really something to see..

Currently performing with theMikhaylovsky Theatre in St Petersburg, since Dec 2011... He was previously a principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet.

.......... he is the fiancee of Natalia Osipova, one of the most amazing ballerinas of our day, Natalia will be featured here next week ;) Vasiliev and Osipova left the Bolshoi together when they both moved to the Mikhailovsky.

This gave me goosebumps... read The Boy who can Fly.... {by the telegraph.co.uk}

"Such special artists come along only once in a generation. And for the Bolshoi, long expected to produce superheroes, it's been almost 20 years since Irek Mukhamedov departed for London, the last iconic Spartacus.

But now, here's Ivan. A schoolboy, still growing, who loves poetry and dogs, who arrived in Moscow from faraway Minsk last autumn aged 17 without a shred of aristocratic Bolshoi training, but who was catapulted instantly into the front ranks of the Bolshoi Ballet's attractions, dancing men's roles like a man, causing crackles of excitement among veteran watchers - a talent in a lifetime."

Enjoy Saturdance!!!!!!!!!

Saturdance!

Happy Saturday my loves!!!!! will you be dancing today?

Here is one of my faves, Maria Alexandrova is a strong performer, incredibly strong if you ask me! She is perfect for roles of character like Don Quixote and the likes.

Maria graduated from the Moscow Academic School of Choreography (class of Prof. S. Golovkina) and the same year she joined the Bolshoi Ballet company where she has turned into a solid ballerina working with famous Marina Semyonova and Tatiana Golikova. Maria is distinguished by her beautiful lines, artistic skills and VERY unique technique. Enjoy!

The above shot is from one of my favorite: Spartacus!!!

Repertoire includes:

Ramze (Pharaoh's Daughter), title role (La Sylphide), Mekhmene Banu (Legend of Love), Myrtha (Giselle), Kitri and Street Dancer (Don Quixote), Queen of the Ball (A Fantasy on Casanova Theme), solo parts in Dreams about Japan, Symphony in C, The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Romeo and Juliet, Chopiniana, The Taming of the Shrew.

Happy weekend xoxoxox

Saturdance!

Today, I dedicate Saturdance to my Idol........... Diana.

There’s little question in anyone’s mind that Diana Vishneva, a graduate of the Vaganova School in St. Petersburg, Russia, and a principal dancer with the Kirov (Maryinksy) Ballet, is one of the great ballerinas of our time. An impeccable technician, with a gloriously supple body.

But leaving the technique aside, I find her dancing to be the most deeply intense and passionate out there, she brings a remarkable dramatic intelligence and theatrical savvy to every roles, I tell ya, can be quite remarkable to witness.

“As a member of a big company, you never have the chance to feel independent in your creative life,” says Vishneva. “Of course it’s great to do the classical repertoire, but I am always looking for something else too. If you are not growing as an artist, you might as well stop.” Diana Vishneva

Many xoxoxo! and happy Saturdance!!!
