Attitude Adjustment

Look, don't get me wrong, I love the Holidays just as much as the next blogger but sometimes I get the feeling early November is JUST too soon... {right starbucks?} .......... just sayin'.

Halloween and Thankgiving (super-duper fun Holidays we typically don't celebrate here in Mexico but in my house, trick-o-treatin' is mandatory and fully expected) anyway, every year they are more and more overshadowed by Christmas. I for starters do not acknowledge the Holidays until the weather changes and here in the Bay of Banderas we are still baking.

In search for inspiration and a MUCH needed attitude adjustment {since everyone else seems so flippin' merry}, I went to Desire to Inspire and I was not disappointed. Would you look at this INSANE Christmas decor????? I can't deal, it's too good!

And how DO YOU feel about Christmas in early November?

Halloween ya'll !!!

Aaaalrighty..... let's talk halloween shall we? I am crazy about these ideas by, well, Martha Stewart of course (is there anyone more insanely creative?) LUVES HER!!!!!!!!!!!

And tell me, are you going to have a party? here's what you'll need...

A super sick and creepy finger Invitation!!!

Stylish and mysterious silhouettes and cookies (or anything edible that looks like a brain)....

Oh YESSSSSSSSSSS!!! gross (yet delicious) punch!!! you've gotta have that!!!

Spiders all over... yikes!!!

Now, let's discuss costumes...... is THIS YOU???

If you're a baby you must go for this, TOO ADORBS.
If you are over 5, save yourself the trouble, it's not cute anymore.

 Fortune teller..........
And, (totally unrelated) did you know that some fortune teller told Coco Chanel she would be rich and famous??? I wanna  know where she's at.

OK this ghost is creepy.

Medusa! (Martha cracks me up!)

MOST of these costumes are DIY and you can go to Martha's page for tutorials :)

Me and my son plan on dressing up for Trick or Treating, if it comes out alright I will post photos. IF :)

Katrine's Easter Wonderland

I have had these images for months, waiting for Easter to approach so I could show them all to you. I have never seen a more beautiful Easter arrangement... or a cooler approach. I heart the shapes, the branches, the table setting, the incorporation of Mother Nature into the scene....

Let's see if you love it as much as I do...

"The easter doesn’t have to be yellow. Why not experiment with a much fresher green theme? The colour heralding the arrival of spring. We have set a table with pure Danish design and the daffodils have been replaced by snowdrops, crocuses, white parrot tulips and cherry branches". Katrine Martensen-Larsen

TWO clever christmas solutions ;)

WOWza, I saw this and I was instantly in-love. Can you believe this picture below and how simple yet perfect this christmas décor solution is? If you have modern, white (or cream) chairs like these... go for it!

The second clever solution here is the cards hanging from the cute coat rack... I admit it, sometimes I can't find anything to do with all the cards I get and this to me is just too good. They sure can add instant cheer to any corner ;)

A real treat...

You can't possibly miss this, hurry up and click on the Errant Aesthete for a real nice treat: Mulled cider recipe!

There is something about the aromatic waft of apple, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves that evokes a warming Dickensian Christmas scene.

Mellow and fruity and, despite the rum sploshed in, mild to the taste and all too drinkable on these frost laden nights.

Warm and Traditional...

HI sweeties! hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday with your loved ones.... we normally don't celebrate this holiday here in Mexico but a lot of peope do in my city as a big part of its population is American. Continuing with the Christmas Decor ideas I started earlier this week by showing you some chic christmas decorations, I have a picture here that I love because the décor in it is so traditional and warm, it really feels like my grandma's home (just throw in a ceramic Nativity Scene and it could very well be her lovely house).

What do you think? is this your style at all? or do you prefer to go modern??
