Tea with the Queen!

 

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states known as the Commonwealth realms, and head of the 54-member Commonwealth of Nations. She is also head of state of the Crown Dependencies and British Overseas Territories.

 

Clearly her Diamond Jubilee being celebrated this year across the pond is a BIG DEAL.

Tea with the queen is something I'd very much like to do if I had the opportunity, I am sure it must be totally off the chain. Now, I may not have the invitation {yet} but I sure know what I'll be wearing:

Royal Style Files: Princess Victoria

It's the turn of Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Västergötland who is seriously first class royalty, being the only female heir-apparent in the world.... With 35 years old, is the heiress-apparent to the Swedish throne. If she ascends to the throne as expected, she will be Sweden's fourth queen.

Married to Daniel Westling, formerly her personal trainer... these two had an adorable baby girl on Feb 2012. And that newborn is second in line to the Swedish throne.

This Daniel sorta strike me as someone I'd be unwilling to trust. But oh well... let's talk fashion,

This coral dress is very very pretty, it hugs her figure in a beautiful way... and for someone who battled anorexia, she's looking pretty healthy these days. Good for her!

Casual Victoria... how girlnextdoor of her! 

The gown, FLAW-LESS, Victoria could give advise to 1 or 15 celebrities. Nude, embellished, one shoulder, naturally flowing, and look, even comes with a guy that fixes it every 2 steps!!!

Another, more casual, off the shoulder number. Saten and with a gorgeous print. She has great shoulders and neck and a beautiful smile so this style definitely works for her.

Bright & Bold business dress. I dig.

Finally, a very pregnant Victoria with a sequined cocktail number, SO ADORBZ!

I don't love the hair though, I feel its often too grown up for her, sorta outdated. But I guess with that MAJOR swag on her head, who cares!!!

Royal Style Files: Princess Charlene of Monaco

This woman makes me green with envy, blessed with INSANE genes, super tall and effortlessly chic. She has made some beautiful fashion choices, and some not so much. Let's see:

Nude coat + leather gloves?

it's a YES

Not too thrilled with the color of this prom-like dress and the jewelry choices... not to thrilled.

Gorge, GORGE in nude tones. The peplum on the suit? I DIG. And the hat is just perfect for an official event. Perfect lenght of that skirt.

The ombre gown is to DIE, and the styling, the hair everything is just too damn glorious.

Beautiful dress, almost goddess-like, but what's with the hair??? I know she used to swim and stuff, but did she just get out of the pool??? ugh. You could use some accesories girl.

All three dresses here i love, simply perfect for her body shape and I most certainly would kill for the middle one. I understand she likes simple looks... but still, dont get how a girl with her kinda money wont accesorize with fabulous purses and necklaces.. people in that royal family are very stylish! Maybe Charlotte can help?



Rumor has it she is pregnant... if so, I cannot wait to see her maternity style!!!!

Royal Style Files: Princess Maxima

In 1999 Maxima met Crown Prince Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, at a party in Seville, Spain. The striking Argentinian blonde had heard a prince would be at the fiesta, but she had no clue who it might be. HA!

But check this out, Maxima and Willem-Alexander walked into a storm when it emerged that during the Seventies, Maxima's father had served as Argentina's agriculture minister during the rule of country's brutal military dictatorship, infamous for human rights violations. The news sparked a national discussion on whether Maxima was a suitable person to join the royal family.

Seriously???

The controversy the Dutch parliament even went so far as to debate the issue but Queen Beatrix continued to embrace her son's girlfriend. The monarch praised Maxima as "an intelligent modern woman" in a rare nationally televised address as she announced the couple's engagement. However, though the wedding would go ahead, Maxima's father would not be present.

Facing reporters for the first time, Maxima candidly accepted the protocol that would keep her father away from her big day. "As a daughter I find it terrible that my father won't be there," she said, "but that's the way it is, and I understand the feelings of the Dutch on the question." OUCH.


Enough about this drama, check out the FASHION!!!!!

Maxima has great style, she is incredibly gracious and femenine and knows her figure and what works for her. That's just fabulous.

We have seen many examples of how money does NOT equal good style. Many girls out there who could be wearing anything in the world always seem to fail. But nope, not Maxima. She seriously picks the MOST gorgeous gowns event after event and even her casual outfits are too darn adorable!!

Royal Style Files: Princess Letizia

Princess Mette-marit last week was mighty inspiring... and it only increased my obsession for the royals.

Today is the turn of Princess Letizia, I am crazy about here {although I do think she should gain more weight now}  

Letizia, Princess of Asturias is the wife of Felipe, Prince of Asturias, the heir apparent to the Spanish throne. Before her marriage to the prince, she was a journalist. On 1 November 2003 to the surprise of many, the Royal Household announced Letizia's engagement to the Prince of Asturias. Afterwards, she moved to live in a wing of Zarzuela Palace until the day of her wedding!!

Together, they have two adorbz little girls :)

This is soooooooooooo HOT!!! my favorite. Look at the gorgeous skirt, that reminds ya of a spanish dancer... Earings don't really pull the look together though.

royal syle files: Princess Mette-Marit

Ok, firsts comes first.

We're good??? AAAAAAAAAAAAlright then.

Today's Royal Style Files features Princess Mette-Marit of Norway {thanks to a darling reader who recommended I check her out} Now, I am obsessed with this woman. You see, this is what she told her father one evening:

"I've just been taken home in a taxi... by the crown prince,"

AHA!!! and soon the two staggered people by moving in together for months without even announcing an engagement. {I tell ya, this is such a modern Fairy Tale!!!}

Suddenly Mette-Marit, who was known to have moved in circles where drugs were readily available, and who had a three-year-old son, Marius, by a man convicted of drug possession, found her past under fierce scrutiny. And many questioned the crown prince's choice of partner. {I know... people...}

When she and Haakon did get engaged some months after moving in together, Mette-Marit had to make radical adjustments before stepping out into the spotlight. Just on a superficial level, she had to look the part as she began to attend official functions, and one of her first trips was to New York to buy new clothes without the pressure of being photographed out shopping. "Before, I used to love shopping," she said, "but now it's just stressful. Sure, buying clothes is fantastic for most girls, but not so great for me. What has effectively happened is that all of a sudden I need to have a good wardrobe for my new role in life. And I certainly didn't have many ballgowns before I met Haakon," she added.

Well....... her style is adorable. See for yourself!

Soooooo... THERE IS a happy ending...

The president of Norway's parliament, Kirsti Kolle Grondahl, suggested the following to the country's four million citizens: "I think it's wise for all of us to put this in the past and not let it tarnish her future." And for the most part the next generation has done just that, having easily fallen under the charm of the future queen of Norway. {God bless him}

On January 21, 2004 Mette-Marit gave birth to daughter Princess Ingrid Alexandra who becomes Norway's first ever female heir to the throne. Her little brother, Prince Sverre Magnus, was born in December 2005.
