Like Bold? Try ByHenzel

I am falling hard for the Contemporary, brave rug designs by ByHenzel. I find them extremely intense and artistic, and I love those two concepts. Right up my alley.

My style is definitely not on the contemporary/modernn side though. I like vintage, warm, old stuff a lot better. But these.............. oh these made my heart skip a beat.

Man Made

The other day I mentioned how color is my drug... well, it's no surprise I am HEAD over HEELS for this blog I found "for men" which is totally, TOTALLY rad and beyond.

Man Made DIY has a wednesday feature called BLOW MY MINDSDAY and PUh-Lease! my mind has been blown for real.

Like this fractal mineral art which is an actual geological find. Yes people, as in, MADE BY NATURE, colors and all.

Crazy cool right?

Now, there was this other post onThe Au Vieux Panier hotel in Marseille, France that has but five rooms total, but each are redesigned and reconfigured every year by internationally recognized artists and designers. This space elow was conceptualized by famous street artist Tilt, who covered half the room in colorful graffiti while leaving the other half an austere white. GENIUS. Flippin' genius.

yay? or nay?

Minimalist Find: The B Flat

Hey ya'll... got a new feature here at my lil ole blog... Minimalist Find.

While I dont feel very attracted to minimalist spaces, I do realize some pieces are just genius. And quite frankly, these designers are what keep the ball rolling.

Today, let's talk about B Flat. Gorgeous design I had not seen before, found over at Homedit, that was designed by Andreas Berlin back in 2005. It has a very clean and transparent design resembling a puzzle where every piece fits perfectly. It’s also the lowest sofa in the Leolux collection.

The B flat sofa is a great example of how style and function can coexist without having to sacrifice anything.

Want more of this???
I recommend you check out the impressive collection of armchairs, on the Leolux Page.

btw: And in case you're wondering.... This is NOT a sponsored post. I really, truly LOVED this sofa.

French Country Vs. Contemporary

I LOVE the "Versus" feature.... I enjoy looking at rooms and styles that are totally different! I appreciate the contrast because then it's easier to clearly identify each style... Soooo.....

In the case of French Country Vs. Contemporary.... what's your veredict?

When you think of the French countryside, you're sure to see lavender fields and bright sunshine. While there are many elements that contribute to the French Country style of decorating, the resulting look is always rustic, old-world, and welcoming. The look fits well into both country houses and elegant, old chateaux. The French Country style of decorating, with its warm and casual feel will fit beautifully into your home as well.

Colors used to decorate in the French Country style come from the full spectrum of the color wheel. Sunny yellow and soft gold, firey red and burnt rust, bright grass green and dark hunter green, cobalt blue and soft ocean tones... Bright black and dull grays punctuate the bright colors and define accessory pieces. Rusted metal furniture, lighting fixtures, and furniture give warm color and wonderful lines.

An important element in pieces used in French Country style decorating is the use of natural materials. Rough stained or painted plaster walls, hefty beamed ceilings and walls, delicate carved wood details, and chair seats woven of rush give texture and simplicity to the look. Natural stone floors are covered with wool or cotton rugs.

VS.

It's been thought that modern interiors are cold and minimalist, today's CONTEMPORARY interiors are comfortable and welcoming. It's a style that is equally appropriate for offices and stores, lofts and homes. A contemporary style home can be a quiet and comfortable retreat.

The basic rules to achieve this look; Simplicity, subtle sophistication, texture and clean lines help to define contemporary style decorating. Interiors showcase space rather than things. By focusing on color, space, and shape, contemporary interiors are sleek and fresh.

Neutrals, black, and white are the main colors in contemporary style interiors. The palette is often punched up and accented with bright and bold color. Black is often used to ground and define a contemporary style room. With walls painted in a basic neutral, you have a wonderful backdrop for bold colored accessories. If the walls and windows are painted in pastels, the trims should be neutral. If a wall is a bright, bold color, neutrals should be used everywhere else.

The most obvious and distinctive element of a contemporary style interior design is line. It's found in architectural details, high ceilings and bare windows.

Fabulousness Times 4.... ♥ Modern Fireplace

Hello there girls and boys! I had a hectic first half of the morning and being here to post something pretty makes me OH-SO happy!!!! you see... it's been raining so much here and rivers are at the top of their capacity and roads are so ugly... me and my lil' boy were stuck in trafic for almost an hour and missed school {we were so late they wouldnt let us in... } anyway, i had to call my mom.. yada-yada-yada.... it's all good now.

Ok today on Fabulousness times 4, I've got some fireplaces. Since I see all over the blogosphere, everyone is so excited about fall and scarves and pretty outfits. This time I wanted to depart from the classic/traditional style and show some modern babies. First one is my fave. Lets see if you likey ;)

All-white warmth
{is that a perfect mantel or WHATTT}

Bedroom cozy... this room was so perfectly styled I die.
Just look at the bookshelves arrangement, the position of the chair... swoon!

Perfect substitute...
{this is what I NEED since the weather here is not fire-friendly}

Love in the kitchen
This fire provides such warmth to this kitchen, I'd bet the family spends hours and hours in here. I am not a big fan of such sharp edges though. Do you like this???

I feel much better after writing this post. Its amazing what the blog does for my life!

Love you all!!!

Its Personal!

My sweet friends :) I didnt post anything yesterday as I was soooo busy at work. But here I am! Enjoying a fabulous (although super warm day) here in paradise....
I do believe in adding your personal touch to a space to make it special, but that doesnt mean you have to turn the place into a really traditional, boring space! you can go modern, then add your personal touch, and achive wonderful results: a friendly elegance!
Look at how this lovely vintage desk and the flowers add personality to this really modern space...

A treated mirror and the antique will make any room feel special!

The differents styles were combined to reflect the owner's style, nicely done!

Modern and elegant, yet relaxed and friendly.... that's what you get when you go for a cottage-beachy style, but keeping it neutral, with a few splashes of color! The personal touch comes with that amazing trunk and the paddle.

White Perfection...

OMG!!! I feel like hiding in some bushes! I am sorry I havent posted anything in days, I normally try and post something even in the weekends as I really can't live without bloggin. BUT; in my defense, I have been way too busy at work!. But ok, enough of that... I have some fabulous inspiration to start the week in a clean, fresh and modern way... WHITE. I am not a huge fan of ALL-White spaces, but I do love it very, very much when accompanied by some splashes of color. Here's how you do it:
