Bare Window Love

A few days ago I got an e-mail from a reader asking my opinion on dressed vs. bare windows.

Today, I'll say I have fallen BIG time for strong-statement bare windows, all that natural light, all the drama, all the love and respect for architectural details.

This gallery i've gathered today it's making me wanna knock down some walls.... would that be totally crazy?

Oh goodness you guys... this was a craaaaaaaaaaaazy weeked. I partied until 6am on Friday!!! {for the first time in a very long time since, let me remind you, I am a dedicated working mother who 'usually' has 6am as her waking-up time, not her bedtime HA!}

Las Alcobas {a REAL treat today}

Hi lovelies!!! how was the weekend???

Last month while in Mexico City, I visited a friend of mine who is General Manager at Las Alcobas, a Boutique Hotel. Now, while I knew this place would be fabulous and ULTRA chic since it is on Masaryk Street {the equivalent to NYC's 5th Ave with Gucci, Prada, Cartier, Donna Karan, Chanel, and a lot more fabulousness going on there} and Masaryk Street is in the super-duper-trendy Polanco neihborhood, I had no idea just how stunning the hotel would be.

Ok. Enough Yapping. My friend Michael gave me a tour and here's the place where YOU MUST stay when you go to the City of Mexico :)

I immediately fell in love with the use of colors, textures and light. It is simply to DIE for. There was very detailed work on the wood and mirrors and the location could NOT be any better. I want to go there (on vacation - not work like always) and enjoy a few days of that amazing city I love. But more than anything I'd like to sleep on those beds, they kept calling my name while I was touring the hotel.

See this genius work on the wall? I cannot think of another word to describe it. GENIUS.

It's all insanely good. Really.

In case you're wondering WHO-THE-EFF designed this incredible aesthetic marvel, the answer is power duo Yabu Pushelberg (a post on them two creative geniuses coming soon)

Something's gotta give fabulousness!

One of my favorite movies of all times has also some pretty-darn-fabulous interiors. In Something's gotta give, Diane's character is a famous writer with a house in The Hamptons.

There is a decorating style very particular of The Hamptons though, a friendly elegant beach cottage feel, a lot of whites and neutrals, nautical themes and of course PLENTY of space. This house in the movie sure follows all the rules to be followed and it works.

Ch-ch-check it out!

James Radin, the awesome LA based interior designer is credited at the end of the movie with a "Thanks." - he is Nancy Meyers' ( the writer and director ) personal interior designer.  Beth Rubino, Set Decorator is who has been truly credited with the house's design so Radin's role in the house's design is apparently come in and help the production team make the house look professionally decorated. Because that's how Diane's character would have had it! {Radin also designed the houses in The Holiday!"}

And, Just for fun............
{LOL's}

Is this style something you likey???
